We’re thrilled to announce that Canto opens in Ancoats on September 20th 2018.

Building on the success of our award-winning sister restaurant El Gato Negro, we’ll offer a broad selection of seasonal small plates, or petiscos as tapas are known in Portugal, as well as larger dishes to be enjoyed on their own or shared.

After months of recipe testing under the direction of Head Chef Carlos Gomes we’ve today published example menus – for brunch, lunch and dinner – so diners have an idea of what to expect. Carlos says:

“It’s been a real labour of love. Many of the dishes we’ll be serving have a real personal connection for me. It will be typically Portuguese and see a good selection of specials that rotate regularly.” 

We’ve today also opened our online booking system so customers can start to make advance reservations for our highly-anticipated opening. We hope you’re all able to secure a reservation and look forward to welcoming you to Canto very soon!
